About the Electrical Engineering Department
Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering at Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur. Our Department started in the year of 2000. Over the years, we have grown our expertise and competence as per the government requirement in the core of Electrical Engineering and research.
We have signed MoUs with industries to work on live challenges. The industry-oriented undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering prepares the students as per the industrial expectations.
The primary aim of our curriculum is to impart technical skills to students, promote their problem-solving skills and innovation of new technologies. Department offers large number of optional courses for providing wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific and technological developments. Undergraduate students are encouraged to start-up with the support of Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell established in the campus.
Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. We have state of the art research facilities to support our academic programs and research. This department has a distinguished record in both teaching and research. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded in their respective research fields.
The Electrical Engineering course deals with the various domains related to electrical engineering field. It includes Circuit Analysis, Electrical Machines & Drives, Power System Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Utilization, Control systems and its advancements, Power Electronics and its Applications etc. The course equips the graduates with the expertise required for the core industrial needs. Students will also be trained in various currents thrust areas of Electrical Engineering like Smart Grid and Automation, Renewable Energy and Intelligent Controllers.

Message from HOD
The department of Electrical Engineering under Poornima college of Engineering, Jaipur is established in the year 2000. The department runs under graduate program B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of electrical engineering. The department has well qualified and committed faculties with specialization in the areas of Power Systems, Power Electronics, Electric Drives, Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Automation etc. to guide and mentor the students’ community. Department of Electrical Engineering is well equipped with the state of art equipment’s and Laboratories. Conducive environment exists in the department for both staff and students. Department is bound to impart knowledge in electrical engineering to develop professionals and leaders to meet the global challenges and to be socially responsible. For Encouragement of research and personal development of student, IEEE (USA) student chapter is established. The department provides high quality placements with the maximum salary package reaching to 12 LPA.
The department equips the students with the required technical skills and knowledge required to face the real time professional challenges and also works on their overall personality development through various Professional Body activities and extra and co-curricular activities. The world is open for all the electrical engineers to pursue a career of their choice specifically in Govt. and Public sector. Collaboration with faculty members from other disciplines, both within and outside the institute, is encouraged. The research activity of the department includes fundamental research, sponsored and consultancy projects are carried out with active participation of the students, faculty, staff and research engineers.
The curriculum of the department is more students centric and focused on outcome based education (OBE) pattern, with a flexibility of modifying and updating the syllabi of the courses as per the need and requirements of the society/industry standards by informing to RTU Academic section. The infrastructure and lab facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researchers to learn and innovate. In the changing scenario, nowadays expectations of industries are ever increasing. To bridge this gap and cater the needs of industries as well as make the students employable and industry ready, department in its curriculum has introduced minor courses and or MOOC Courses. We also encourage our students to learn foreign languages. This not only will help for the holistic development of the students, but also will bring an avenue to build-up a professional career in the corporate world. Department also has setup of 200KW “Solar Power Plant” in operation. “Center of Excellence” in the institute is most attractive place for the students who are interested in innovation and to showcase their skill. Department of Electrical Engineering is bound to organize workshops, FDP’s, tutorial sessions, Industry expert talk for the exponential development of our Poornima Students. In-order to gain an industrial exposure, internship to the students is made mandatory which definitely will prepare the students to be industry ready.
Only one piece of advice I would like to share: Success in life is not measured against having a hefty pay package, it is also in having a lovable family, faithful friends and a warm social circle. We should practice to live life sincerely and not seriously. PEO1: Graduates will have the ability to formulate, analyze and apply design process using the basic knowledge of engineering and sciences to solve complex electrical engineering problems.
PEO2: Graduates will exhibit quality of leadership, teamwork, time management, with a commitment towards addressing societal issues of equity, public and environmental safety using modern engineering tools.
PEO3: Graduates will possess dynamic communication and have successful transition into a broad range of multi-disciplinary career options in industry, government and research as lifelong learner.
PO 1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO 2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO 3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cul-tural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO 4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO 5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

The department of EE is running two international clubs under faculty supervision namely IEEE Club and ISLE Club for all the students of the department.
1. IEEE Club: IEEE is the world's largest professional association devoted to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is also provided a great platform to the students to enhance their technical and professional skills by participating in various conferences, talks, competitions etc. over the world. The primary purpose of IEEE Student Branch is to promote research among the students and provide a platform to showcase and improve their interests and talents. IEEE Student Branch provides them the exposure needed to the wide range of topics and research areas available so that they do not leave any stone unturned.
2. ISLE Club: The Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) is a professional body in the field of illuminating engineering with a broad based membership of scientists, engineers, architects, academicians, researchers, designers and others interested in lighting issues. It is also a member of Lux Pacifica, a lighting body that represents 60% of the world's population. GREEN TECHNOLOGY
As human lives are advancing constantly, the basic needs of human being are increasing tremendously as well. The human intrusion needs have altered the natural environment and arouses problems such as pollution, climate change and global warming. In order to get rid of these problems, Green Technology is introduces to recover the Earth back to a healthy state. Green Technology is a new technology that introduced to protect the Earth against environmental pollution. It plays an important role in conserving the natural resources and environment. Green technology is known environmental technology or clean technology as well. It produced energy to non-toxic cleaning products by using different methods and materials. Green Technology is introduced to reach five goals which are sustainability by satisfying the society’s needs without damaging or depleting the availability of the resources for the future generations, “cradle to cradle” design by designing products that are reusable, source reduction by changing the amount of raw materials consumption and ways of production to reduce the waste products, innovation by developing new and alternative technologies and viability by creating economic activity such as new career that associated with technologies and products urgently, green technology is developing in 5 majors areas which are energy, green building, environmentally preferred purchasing, green chemistry and green nanotechnology.

DEVELOPMENT VS ENVIRONMENT
One of the most important ingredients of development is wholesome environment. For development purpose like widening of roads jeopardized the environment, from 2008 to 2017 around 20,000 trees were cut in Bangalore, 10,000 in Gurugram and the numbers is increasing day by day. If anyone ask them why trees are being cut the answer is for developmental activities and ensure that, they can bring trees back, but bringing them back is easy to say but very difficult to achieve. Does, development have to mean damage to environment? No, not at all instead of it, there must be mutual understanding between the developmentalists and the environmentalists. Especially, the urban environment has to be done with great care because it is not possible to grow trees, due to increase in population and pollution. By cutting trees, we are just cutting our lifeline as they are harvesting solar energy, controlling pollution, providing material to the materialistic world and control on harmful gases like CO2, also affects the small mammals, birds and the food chain. So, by just cutting down one tree, we are depleting so many resources.

HOW TO MAKE ACONVERSATION WITH ANY ONE
“CONVERSATION” it’s a fascinating thing. A conversation is an adventure; a conversation gives you a whole new perspective, a conversation opens a door, a conversation can make war, a conversation can make peace, a conversation defines who we are as a human race. And think about this every single person in your life was once a stranger to you and you knew nothing about them until you had that first CONVERSATION.
So these are the seven ways by which you can have a conversation with almost anyone.
- The first word ‘Flood Gates’: Keep it simple a Hi, a Hey, a Hello and do what a good bowler does just gather the enthusiasm, positivity, energy put on a big smile and say Hi.
- Skip the small talk: How are you? I am fine and you. I am also fine. And the conversation is ended in just few seconds. So, just skip such questions and ask like how long you have been in this city? Your name is too good how your parents thought of it? You know answer to all such questions is always something unique, something personal.
- Find the me too: Make an effort to find one thing in common. When you start at that point and then move outward from their you will find that all of a sudden conversation becomes a lot easier and that’s because both of you are suddenly at the same side of something.

So, go and ask for opinions and that’s when you open up a two way street, that’s where a real conversation begins. Ask something simple, keep it generic. When someone gives you their opinions listen to them and don’t listen to reply, listen to listen.
